Most of us dont get hurt, but the beauty of the tattoo and the pride that comes with wearing it far outweighs the pin stick here and there.How about using some kind of anesthetic cream? Such products are really not recommended.

  • How Much Is It Going to Cost?

    When it comes to tattoos, you get what you pay for. Yes, there are many people who get tattoos for a very small fee. But look for quality and be prepared to pay for it. Never bargain over the price of a tattoo. This is disrespectful to the artist. Think of it this way: its a work of art that youll wear for the rest of your life.

  • What Should I Get? And Where?

    Its all a matter of personal taste. You can get whatever you want and whatever your artist is willing to do. You can choose a painting from the wall or have them create a custom piece just for you. The only limit is your own imagination. As for where you should do it, just keep in mind what you do at work and what social circle you are in. You may want to place your tattoo somewhere where it can be easily hidden by regular clothing.

  • Where Can I Find Pictures of Tattoos?

    If youre getting a tattoo, especially as an expression of your personality, why would you want the same tattoo as someone else? Instead, find other images of what youre looking for and let your artist draw a custom design for you. Example: If you want to get a tattoo of a penguin standing on a glacier, find real photos of penguins and glaciers. If you want a blue rose tattoo wrapped around a cross, find images of real roses and crosses that you like. If the images dont show exactly what you want, just take them to your artist to use as a guide and tell them what changes you want to make to the original images. A true artist will gladly accept the challenge of creating an individual work.

I have way to many good things to say about this place so I'll try and keep it short and to the point. Tattoos: I was tattooed by Samma and I could not be more over the moon with the art he produced for me. I gave him a rough idea and he ran with it. He's nothing short of a creative genius. The quality of the work produced is second to none. Environment: I have never before felt so at home or comfortable in a studio. Every single member of staff there treated me as though I was an old friend or a repeat customer despite it being my first time in the studio. The studio was clean and well laid out. Staff: I do not have a bad word to say about a single member of the team in this studio. Bryony, Konrad, Molly and Samma were all so incredibly friendly and welcoming. I don't know them very well (this having been my first visit) but I can hand-on-heart say that every single one of them is a wonderful person with a heart of gold. If you are looking for somewhere to get your first tattoo, or to add to your collection, I could NOT recommend this studio more. I did an almost 100-mile round trip to visit this studio, and I'll sure as hell be doing it again.

Absolutely amazing friendly atmosphere in Samma Charles tattoo studio, amazingly beautiful conjured tattoo design then miraculously transferred to my skin. I just can't be happier and content. This is still not the end as my tattoo requires one more session but I am already so grateful for the beautiful art on my skin. Samm conjured up exactly what I wanted. The whole visit in the studio was a real relaxation and a nice time with fantastic real artists. Apart from that, the studio itself is clean, sterile and safe. Brilliant place to get your tattoos! Had my second tattoo done here and was skeptical at first because my previous experience at another Oxford tattoo studio did not go so well so was worried and anxious about getting another one. I can't seem to stay away! The whole of Samma Charles is amazing and so welcoming. My usual visit is to Bryony, Samma's wondrous piercer, she is the best piercer I've visited hands down and makes the whole experience oddly pain-free. There is always a stunning range of jewellery constantly in stock, though look at your own risk because you will want to buy it all! All the tattoo artists are so lovely too, I've had the pleasure of being tattooed by Konrad, he was very careful and made sure I had a good experience. Overall, an amazing place, definitely give them a visit! But book in first so you don't have to leave disappointed :)

Wanted to leave an updated review because I recently got new tattoos from 2 artists in the studio in addition to my piercings. The quality and professionalism of this place cannot be overstated. Molly is especially gentle, with incredible skills in her work, proving her experience, care, and attention to detail. Don't discount Konrad because he's an apprentice; he is already knocking it out of the park with his creative, fun, and vibrant designs. Everything they've done has healed so beautifully and I love my new artwork so much! Everyone works to make it a comfortable environment during the whole tattoo process. You can tell the whole studio takes their craft very seriously 👌 Excellent experience, put more needles in me!

Where do I start? Probably at the beginning. I approached Samma for a tattoo idea as I though the design would suit his style, he was very fast in his response, I instantly knew I didn’t want anyone else to tattoo me. We planned at date. His communication was excellent throughout. I gave him a rough idea of what I wanted and the design he came up with was better than I ever could of expected. On the day, the studio had an amazing atmosphere, everyone is so friendly and made me feel so welcome. He designs on a iPad Pro and it’s so clear and cleaver and shows you what it will look like in situ before he starts. The tattoo gun are even wireless! He really is in the future. The lack of noise from the gun had me totally at ease and relaxed all the way thorough. Samma makes sure your comfortable with breaks as you desire, drinks and refreshments was even provided! A first for me in any tattoo studio. He really looks after you as a professional. I’m just so happy with my final tattoo it’s not even a tattoo it’s a work of art. Carlsberg don’t do tattoo studios but if they did they wouldn’t be called Carlsberg they would be called Samma Charles Art. Thank you again Samma. Bret hart x

She really got a sense of what I was looking for and suggested some beautiful jewellery options. The piercing is healing really well so far- would definitely recommend going to Bryony!

I don't think there is anything I can say about Samma that hasn't been said by someone else somewhere. The reviews don't lie and despite his modesty, the man's a genius. Minus the part where you get needled for hours on end, it's amazing to watch the man work. From the onset, I got in touch with Samma with the mindset that I would give him whatever references I had and that would be the extent of my demands. As a fan of his work, I knew he would make me something that I would like and he did. And while I only worked with Samma, the rest of the staff were incredibly kind to me as well. For a place where chances are there is almost constantly someone bleeding, it's hard to think of a place where I would have received warmer and more caring treatment as a client. They will do everything within their power to ensure that you're comfortable before, during, and after the experience. I'd list faults but there really aren't any. These guys have the reputation they do for a reason!

Everyone made me feel safe and welcome, not to mention laughing pretty much the entire time. Despite taking a trip to spicy pain town at the end, the final piece more than makes up for it. I recieved art that was designed with care, talent, and professionalism. I will be returning to Samma Charles Tattoo in the future if not for some rad ink, for the wonderful times that can be had there.

I always have absolutely wonderful and professional service in here, they're all lovely and their work is faultless. I've had numerous tattoos from Mol (including my whole scalp and forehead and a half sleeve) which I'm still thrilled with and get many compliments on their designs and quality, I've since had a tattoo from their current apprentice Konrad which I'm very happy with, especially considering at the time he had only been tattooing about a week! and most recently i received semi permanent makeup from resident piercer and make up wizard Bryony who did a phenomenal job not only at the makeup but at making me feel calm and comfortable whilst having my eyelids tattooed (a very odd experience I must say!) and lastly although I haven't got to it yet myself, *everything* I've seen Samma produce has been breathtakingly incredible. If you're going to get tattooed or pierced anywhere in oxfordshire make it here and you wont regret it!

Tattoos: I was tattooed by Samma and I could not be more over the moon with the art he produced for me. I gave him a rough idea and he ran with it. He's nothing short of a creative genius. The quality of the work produced is second to none. Environment: I have never before felt so at home or comfortable in a studio. Every single member of staff there treated me as though I was an old friend or a repeat customer despite it being my first time in the studio. The studio was clean and well laid out. Staff: I do not have a bad word to say about a single member of the team in this studio. Bryony, Konrad, Molly and Samma were all so incredibly friendly and welcoming. I don't know them very well (this having been my first visit) but I can hand-on-heart say that every single one of them is a wonderful person with a heart of gold. If you are looking for somewhere to get your first tattoo, or to add to your collection, I could NOT recommend this studio more. I did an almost 100-mile round trip to visit this studio, and I'll sure as hell be doing it again.

My usual visit is to Bryony, Samma's wondrous piercer, she is the best piercer I've visited hands down and makes the whole experience oddly pain-free. There is always a stunning range of jewellery constantly in stock, though look at your own risk because you will want to buy it all! All the tattoo artists are so lovely too, I've had the pleasure of being tattooed by Konrad, he was very careful and made sure I had a good experience. Overall, an amazing place, definitely give them a visit! But book in first so you don't have to leave disappointed :)

Molly is especially gentle, with incredible skills in her work, proving her experience, care, and attention to detail. Don't discount Konrad because he's an apprentice; he is already knocking it out of the park with his creative, fun, and vibrant designs. Everything they've done has healed so beautifully and I love my new artwork so much! Everyone works to make it a comfortable environment during the whole tattoo process. Where do I start? Probably at the beginning. I approached Samma for a tattoo idea as I though the design would suit his style, he was very fast in his response, I instantly knew I didn’t want anyone else to tattoo me. We planned at date. His communication was excellent throughout. I gave him a rough idea of what I wanted and the design he came up with was better than I ever could of expected. On the day, the studio had an amazing atmosphere, everyone is so friendly and made me feel so welcome. He designs on a iPad Pro and it’s so clear and cleaver and shows you what it will look like in situ before he starts. The tattoo gun are even wireless! He really is in the future. The lack of noise from the gun had me totally at ease and relaxed all the way thorough. Samma makes sure your comfortable with breaks as you desire, drinks and refreshments was even provided! A first for me in any tattoo studio. He really looks after you as a professional. I’m just so happy with my final tattoo it’s not even a tattoo it’s a work of art. Minus the part where you get needled for hours on end, it's amazing to watch the man work. From the onset, I got in touch with Samma with the mindset that I would give him whatever references I had and that would be the extent of my demands. As a fan of his work, I knew he would make me something that I would like and he did. And while I only worked with Samma, the rest of the staff were incredibly kind to me as well. For a place where chances are there is almost constantly someone bleeding, it's hard to think of a place where I would have received warmer and more caring treatment as a client. They will do everything within their power to ensure that you're comfortable before, during, and after the experience. I'd list faults but there really aren't any. These guys have the reputation they do for a reason!

I've had numerous tattoos from Mol (including my whole scalp and forehead and a half sleeve) which I'm still thrilled with and get many compliments on their designs and quality, I've since had a tattoo from their current apprentice Konrad which I'm very happy with, especially considering at the time he had only been tattooing about a week! and most recently i received semi permanent makeup from resident piercer and make up wizard Bryony who did a phenomenal job not only at the makeup but at making me feel calm and comfortable whilst having my eyelids tattooed (a very odd experience I must say!) and lastly although I haven't got to it yet myself, *everything* I've seen Samma produce has been breathtakingly incredible. I approached Samma for a tattoo idea as I though the design would suit his style, he was very fast in his response, I instantly knew I didn’t want anyone else to tattoo me. We planned at date. On the day, the studio had an amazing atmosphere, everyone is so friendly and made me feel so welcome. He designs on a iPad Pro and it’s so clear and cleaver and shows you what it will look like in situ before he starts. The tattoo gun are even wireless! He really is in the future. The lack of noise from the gun had me totally at ease and relaxed all the way thorough. Samma makes sure your comfortable with breaks as you desire, drinks and refreshments was even provided! A first for me in any tattoo studio. He really looks after you as a professional. I’m just so happy with my final tattoo it’s not even a tattoo it’s a work of art. Tattoos: I was tattooed by Samma and I could not be more over the moon with the art he produced for me. I gave him a rough idea and he ran with it. He's nothing short of a creative genius. Every single member of staff there treated me as though I was an old friend or a repeat customer despite it being my first time in the studio. The studio was clean and well laid out. Staff: I do not have a bad word to say about a single member of the team in this studio. Bryony, Konrad, Molly and Samma were all so incredibly friendly and welcoming. I don't know them very well (this having been my first visit) but I can hand-on-heart say that every single one of them is a wonderful person with a heart of gold. If you are looking for somewhere to get your first tattoo, or to add to your collection, I could NOT recommend this studio more. I did an almost 100-mile round trip to visit this studio, and I'll sure as hell be doing it again.

I can't seem to stay away! The whole of Samma Charles is amazing and so welcoming. My usual visit is to Bryony, Samma's wondrous piercer, she is the best piercer I've visited hands down and makes the whole experience oddly pain-free. There is always a stunning range of jewellery constantly in stock, though look at your own risk because you will want to buy it all! All the tattoo artists are so lovely too, I've had the pleasure of being tattooed by Konrad, he was very careful and made sure I had a good experience. Overall, an amazing place, definitely give them a visit! But book in first so you don't have to leave disappointed :)

I've had numerous tattoos from Mol (including my whole scalp and forehead and a half sleeve) which I'm still thrilled with and get many compliments on their designs and quality, I've since had a tattoo from their current apprentice Konrad which I'm very happy with, especially considering at the time he had only been tattooing about a week! and most recently i received semi permanent makeup from resident piercer and make up wizard Bryony who did a phenomenal job not only at the makeup but at making me feel calm and comfortable whilst having my eyelids tattooed (a very odd experience I must say!) and lastly although I haven't got to it yet myself, *everything* I've seen Samma produce has been breathtakingly incredible. If you're going to get tattooed or pierced anywhere in oxfordshire make it here and you wont regret it!
